CERTIFICATIONS & QUALIFICATIONS
Enhancing capability—without gatekeeping.
CORE PHILOSOPHY
Certifications in JTF 501 are designed to support growth, coordination, and shared understanding across the team.
They are optional, development-focused, and built around gameplay—not obligation.
Certifications are:
Optional
Development-focused
Team-driven
Built around real gameplay
They are not:
Mandatory requirements
Barriers to participation
Measures of personal worth
Control mechanisms
Participation is always open—certifications simply enhance the experience.
CERTIFICATION ROLES
Members who complete certification events receive corresponding Discord roles.
These roles:
Indicate familiarity and exposure
Help identify capability pools
Support planning and coordination
Encourage continued development
PARTICIPATION & ACCESS
PARTICIPATION REMAINS OPEN
You are never required to:
Attend certification events
Hold certifications
Complete any progression path
You can participate in events regardless of certification status unless explicitly noted.
Learning happens through experience—certifications just focus it.
WHY WE RUN CERT EVENTS
Certification events are designed to:
Focus on specific skill areas (Air, Ground, Capital, Joint)
Improve coordination and safety
Standardize key practices
Build confidence within teams
LEARNING IN PRACTICE
Most skills are learned naturally:
During normal operations
Through mentorship
Through repetition
Through shared experience
Certification events simply concentrate those lessons into focused sessions.
WHY WE USE CERTIFICATIONS
Structure improves capability.
Shared standards improve coordination.
Recognition improves motivation.
We build skill intentionally—without sacrificing accessibility.
SPECIALIZED EVENTS
In rare cases, certain events may require specific certifications to participate.
These are typically:
High-complexity operations
Advanced coordination scenarios
Tiered certification events (Basic, Advanced, Expert)
Specialized T1 or focused training environments
WHY THIS EXISTS
These requirements are not intended to gatekeep players.
They exist to:
Protect the quality of certain gameplay
Maintain coordination and safety
Ensure the experience works as intended for everyone involved
IMPORTANT CONTEXT
Events requiring certifications are intentionally rare.
Leading up to these events, there will always be:
Opportunities to earn required certifications
Dedicated training or qualification sessions
Clear communication on expectations
This is about protecting the experience—not restricting access.
